before the sun can see our light, I've given hay to all
before the birds put sleep the night, the grain already falls
before the frost can love the fields, the water's on its way
the chores are done before I yield to the start of everyday
my ears ripe red from a bitter wind as breath becomes billows
the morning after a long nights fight where we lost two of the foals
and the mothers beg with front hoof raised for another chance to birth
labor bare the broodmare's care for nothing left on earth
and dam she'll never be this year no young one for to raise
the fields will only see the mare lonely as she graze
the waters that will fill this farm come spring floods will they gain
the stillborn's broken broodmare as she breathes away the pain
dog knows that it's paddock time the last horse been turned out
stalls mucked and hay in place the long lines leather's cut
last nights woes are soon erased as the geldings loose the fence
and coyotes craze have carcassed left just bones and subtleness
the day turns on in afternoon and the clouds they shower down
fields will wait another day before they feel the plow

Here together
well i hop into my vehicle and I drive between the cities that like to keep me up at night and feed my bad behaviours, and when I run into the people who always try to teach me the better way to be myself I remind them I never asked for their opinions, but they do settle upon me and I try to drink them downward as I force my inhibitions back beneath the rocks they crawled from as my hat tips in her direction I know she is the reason for the mistakes I like to make when nothing seems to please me anymore
and I once made an effort to feel what I believe in but the acting left me broken with two unbalanced wings, and as I made my way in circles through the days that fall upon me I now know I have control of what doesn't seem to matter anymore
with one left foot in casting and a ball around me ankles I hobble chained to promises that never find their fill, for everydays majestic if you learn to tell the teacher that all that she endeavors can never change the world, so why go on fighting with the thoughts that dull the daggers of the evil that possesses our young and idle tongues, for when we pass these cities with our anger in our pockets we do not justify the past that's brought us here, so let us be believers in each others dreams for all that we have wanted now that we've lost it all

Eyes upon the monster
I was watching the morning sun, it was rising up over the bay,
The water was peaceful and the birds were soon at play,
I looked to the clouds son, and I wondered what they might say,
But the wind should be coming soon and blow those clouds away.
Oh the storm is coming, you best lock your goods up tight,
I’ve never seen it this peaceful out, there will surely be hell tonight.
I spent my morning walking up and down the streets,
Past by a market square and found something to eat,
Said hello to this flower girl, oh man she was such a treat,
Didn’t understand a word she said, but it sure sounded great to me.
Oh the storm is coming, you best lock your goods up tight,
I’ve never seen it this peaceful out, there will surely be hell tonight.
Stood strong in the afternoon as the sun was firing down,
It didn’t waste and ounce of day just burning up this whole town,
The city was bustling, but then there wasn’t even a sound,
Everyone just gasped at once and took a look around.
Oh the storm is coming, you best lock your goods up tight,
I’ve never seen it this peaceful out, there will surely be hell tonight.
All eyes to the heavens as that sun died out so cold,
The clouds were rolling in and the sky was black as coal,
And the thunder cracked buildings as the lighting burned all the poles,
No nothing can save us now , no nothing can save our souls.
Oh the storm is coming, you best lock your goods up tight,
I’ve never seen it this peaceful out, there will surely be hell tonight.
After the wreckage there was nothing left here for me,
I saw the flower girl and her eyes were as red as the sea,
She screamed and she cried for help, but I just ignored her pleas,
After all I was the hell that came and brought this town to its knees.
Oh the storm is coming, you best lock your goods up tight,
